Special Tour to Kampoeng Batik

To support tourism in Solo city and the vicinity, the committee is working to provide a guide and a bus who will take interested conference participant to Kampoeng Batik Laweyan.

Kampoeng Batik Laweyan is an area in Solo City where people have lived on Batik for centuries. The history started from the fall of Majapahit and Demak kingdom which led to the establishment of Pajang Kingdom close to the Kampoeng. It is claimed that the art of Batik painting in Solo was initiated during Pajang golden age. The Kampoeng has recently been stated as National Heritage where buildings and the neighbourhood must be preserved.

Workshops on the Conference

There will be two workshops (or probably more like scientific talks) held during the conference. They are located in Seminar room Building J ground floor.

The first workshop will be on Narration of a Short Movie. The speaker is Mr. Junaedi, who is an active lecturer of Communication Science, UMY. He writes a lot of narration, books, articles and papers as well as gives talks on Journalism and Broadcasting. Among his collaborative works is the movie "Arema Agama Kedua" or Arema the Second Religion which shows the fans of football club Arema hold their stance and support for the club. He also authored documentary films, including "Derby Mataram" which illustrates the conflicts between football club fans of Solo and Yogya.
